as much as i love ya, and as right as right as you are about the lies we were told, youve got some growing to do young grasshopper.
Whats done has been done, and there is no taking that back, so to the future we must look.
We have caused extreme devestation to a country and its people. Granted, in doing so, we have freed them from their evil dictator, and given some of them opportunities that they might not have ever had. Saddam is out of power, that was one goal, and in the end, its a good thing.
But to pull out now, would be an even more irresponsible and selfish thing to do than invading Iraq. As much as i want our boys back (i have friends and family there), to bring everyone home now, would be, in a word, disgusting. Its a huge mess, and those people do not have the means for cleaning it up. Those people can not be left unprotected. And its our job to stay there until its safe for them. And that isnt going to be for a very very long while.
We had no business there in the first place. This was always a war for money and pride, not for the safety of our country. Iraq was not, and could never be, a direct threat to the USA. We were lied to, about many things, and many of of, called bullshit from the begining.
What should be on everyones minds now, is not placing blame and pointing fingers, but rather supporting the efforts our soldiers are making in trying to make Iraq a better place. There are men and women over there, that havent seen their kids, missed holidays and birthdays, and just want to be home, that cant. Our efforts, as citizens, should go towards those men and women. We know who to blame, and we cant change the past. Whats happened is happened, and rehashing it is moot.
Things we do as adults, simple thing s that we sometimes think, "eh, no big deal" are big deals indeed. How many people didnt go out and vote? How many of you said, "my one vote wont count"? A lot im sure. Even if you vote for mickey mouse, thats one more vote against the bad guy. I find it amazing that this many people were dumb enough to keep up with this bastard of a president. I dont believe it, which is why i know there are tons out there that didnt vote.
This day in age, the vote is the one way you have of getting your voice heard. GW isnt listening to protests and angry anti war ralliers. He is focused on the here and now. Give the man some ideas, write your congresspeople. Come up with something other than blame, and get your voice heard where and when it counts.
We all know the lies, betrayal, and everything else. But news flash, this isnt anything new. This country is founded on lies, schemes, murder, and tyranny. And sadly, as much as i love this country, it still goes on. We do not have an honest government, we're not really told the truth about anything. And the lies go deeper than war in iraq, and WMDs. Theyre in all branches of this world. And unfortunately, the most say we have is which guy is going to do the lying for the next 4 years...
